EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN
Every day, the Chairman of the Crow Nation is faced with scores of decisions, each with important consequences for the Apsaalooké people. In order for the Chairman to govern effectively he has delgated duties to his support staff, including but not limited to communicating the Chairman's message to the Apsaalooke people, building fruitful relationships with other tribes as well as the State of Montana, and promoting economic and energy development interests abroad.
Chairman’s Duties and Authorities:
to appoint Cabinet members including a Comptroller who shall be bonded, Chief Executive Officer and other such Cabinet positions adopted by Tribal Ordinance, Resolution or Policy who shall all serve in subordinate positions to the Tribal Officials;
to appoint committee members to Executive Branch committees;
to delegate, at his prerogative, his authority, in writing, to the Vice-Chairman when the Chairman is unavailable due to illness or death in the family. The Tribal Chairman may also, at his prerogative, delegate his authority to the Vice-Chairman in writing from time to time for specific purposes or projects and for specific periods of time. An automatic delegation of authority from the Chairman to the Vice-Chairman shall occur if the Chairman is unavailable or absent for a period of five working days.
